Today, Brandon announced the title and shared first chapters of Secret Project #1! We are hiding the titles for now, as we want to preserve the surprise for those who would like to wait. So if you’re one of those, don’t worry. This update will not include any information about these books. We ask that no one share any spoilers in the Kickstarter or update comments. If you’d like to discuss the first book, please check out the comments on Brandon’s YouTube video or various threads on Reddit.

Thanks to everyone for all the amazing support! $7.5 million in the first six hours is well beyond what any of us could have expected.
When Brandon surprised us with these new books, we were all very excited. When he told us of his plans to release them as part of a Kickstarter campaign, we didn’t know what to think. We knew it would do well—it’s new Brandon books, after all—but we had no idea how well. While we are supremely humbled by your support, we are even more humbled simply by the outpouring of kindness, love, and caring that we have seen from the community these past couple days as Brandon did what Brandon does best: build suspense and throw in a plot twist. The Brandon Sanderson fanbase is one of the best communities around, and we are proud to be part of it.
We are looking forward to a great month of livestreams, theorizing, and reveals from Brandon as he talks about his writing process, keeping these books secret, and previewing the new books! Check them out here!

I started this all off by doing my best to surprise you. Now you've turned it back on me. Ten million? This is incredible, overwhelming, and a little unbelievable. I went to bed last night hoping people would enjoy my little reveal and woke up to a phenomenon.
Thank you so much for your support, enthusiasm, and kind wishes. We were the fastest kickstarter in history to pass several important thresholds, were trending worldwide on Twitter, and were the #1 trending video on YouTube. This response has been incredible. Thank you for spreading the word, and for all that you do to make it so that I can share my imagination with you.
